My Story

In 2001, Cathy returned back to her hometown of Sparta, following the pursuit of travel ventures as an executive assistant, where she assisted in the development and oversight of 3 businesses in the Jackson, Mississippi area. As she was settling back down in White County, she looked for a career that would give her purpose and a feeling of giving back to her community (which she loves dearly!). At that time, she found a position with Pacesetters, Inc. in July of 2001 as a Direct Support Professional.

While at Pacesetters, Inc. she has served in a multitude of positions and filled many roles including DSP, Activities Coordinator, Support Manager, Assistant County Director, and County Director.  She also has served as the Ambassador to the White County Chamber of Commerce.  She currently serves as the Program Compliance Director for the agency and oversees the grant-funded Family Support Program for 14 counties. Additionally, she is a Credentialled Provider Investigator, Person-Centered Trainer, and Personal Outcome Measures Interviewer.

In over 20+ years with Pacesetters, Inc., she has seen so much growth and positive change for the people who are supported. As an employee of Pacesetters, Inc., advocate, and family member of a person with I/DD, Cathy is excited to continue to see and be part of the positive changes occurring for the people Pacesetters supports, with a direct focus on “ABILITY”. She looks forward to continued progress in areas of self-advocacy, promoting rights, and partnerships with our community.  She is proud to be part of an organization that has a clear commitment to providing the best quality of services by focusing on EMPOWERING and SUPPORTING people to live their BEST LIFE!

Cathy has been married to her husband, Jody, for over 21 years and they have two daughters, Aaleiah and Tessa. Aaleiah is pursuing a Nursing Degree and Tessa is currently a student in White County.  She has a lot of hobbies ranging from frequently traveling with family and friends, trail riding to boating, staying active with her children, and living the farm life in rural White County. She says life is too short to limit yourself and not be adventurous, so she tries to involve herself in everything that she has an opportunity to do. Cathy says It keeps life interesting!
